Welcome to KeepSaiQ

KeepSaiQ helps your family capture the stories, character, and memories of the people you love — not just their photos. Instead of scrolling through a camera roll, you build a living portrait of someone, one perspective at a time, with help from everyone who knew them.

This collection walks you through your first few minutes in the app: setting up your family space, choosing who your first story is about, and recording your first perspective.

Create your family space

Your family space is the private home for everyone's contributions — no one outside your invited family can see it.

  1. From the welcome screen, choose Create a family.

  2. Give your family space a name (most people use a last name or a nickname like "The Riveras").

  3. You'll land on Set up your family, where you can immediately invite others or continue solo and invite later.

If someone has already created your family's space and sent you an invite, choose Join a family instead and enter the invite code or tap your invite link.

Choose who your story is about

The first thing KeepSaiQ asks is who — the loved one your family wants to preserve a story for.

  1. Tap Choose someone.

  2. Enter their name, your relationship to them (grandmother, parent, sibling, etc.), and whether they're still with us.

  3. Add a photo if you have one handy — you can always add more later.

You're not limited to telling one story. Most families end up preserving a story for each grandparent, parent, or anyone else whose story matters to them.

Set up your voice and photos

Before your first perspective, KeepSaiQ will ask for two permissions:

  • Microphone access — so you can speak your answers instead of typing. KeepSaiQ transcribes what you say to text right away; it doesn't save the original audio.

  • Photo access — so you can add photos to memories as you go.

Both are optional. Nothing is saved or uploaded without you actively choosing to add it.

Understanding the Story Arc

Every loved one's story unfolds through a set of stages we call the Story Arc. You'll see this as a rail of steps on their story page:

  1. Your Perspective — your own answers about who they are

  2. More to Discover — the parts of their story still unexplored

  3. Through Your Eyes — an AI-woven portrait built from your perspective

  4. Through Our Eyes — the portrait once more family members contribute

  5. Family Mosaic — everyone who's added to the story

Each stage unlocks as more people contribute — a single person's memory is a start, but the fuller picture comes from the whole family.
